Princeton Mawlid at the Chapel 2019
February 9 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm EST
Princeton Mawlid 2019 Poetry & Prose in Praise of the Prophet Muhammad Join us for our annual Mawlid in celebration of the life and legacy of Islam’s culminating Prophet Muhammad, upon him be peace! With special performances by renowned musicians, Nader Khan & Shaykh Asim Yusuf / Talib al-Habib. Songs will be featured from the first-ever original English Mawlid book, The Soliloquy of the Full Moon, with an introduction by author Noor Yusuf. “The Soliloquy of the Full Moon is an epic poem composed of over a thousand lines, celebrating the virtues of the Prophet (peace be upon him), the signs preceding his advent, the wonders of his birth and nursing, the first revelations and his night journey and ascension. It is the first work of its kind written in the English language – Barzanjian in form, Shakespearean in cadence – composed by the author at the age of only 15. May it be read, celebrated, and reflected upon for generations to come!” Listen to the sounds of Nader Khan and Talib al Habib below!
